Dr. Jens O. Krömer holds a PhD in Systems Biotechnology from the Saarland University, Germany. He has expertise in quantitative physiology of microorganisms, metabolic modelling for strain design, bio-electrochemistry and systems biology tools (especially metabolomics and flux analysis).

Dr Krömer has a long track record of developing systems biology platforms for microbes and applying them to metabolic engineering both in research as well as industrial projects. He is author of over 80 publications, book chapters and reviews. He is an inventor on 4 patents in industrial biotech, and a research partner and coordinator in successful grants and industry research contracts worth over 12 M€. He is currently leading the group Systems Biotechnology, Department Solar Materials at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ.

Dr. Minmin Pan holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, with a research interest in microorganism assisted products. He gained abundant experience in field integrated valorization of microalgae, cyanobacteria, and yeast.

Dr. Pan has expertise in nutrients upcycling using microorganisms for products. Coupled with reactor design and quantitative detection approaches, he has achieved 8 publications and 1 patent. He currently works as a postdoctoral fellow and scientific project manager of PROMICON at group Systems Biotechnology, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ.

Nikol is a science communication expert at Pensoft. She holds a BSc in Modern languages, cultures and communication, as well as two MSc in Communication and Information and in Digital Marketing and Communication. 

Nikol is involved in the coordination of communication and dissemination activities of several European-funded projects focusing on topics such as biodiversity data and research reproducibility.
