The 6th IWA International Conference on Еco-Technologies for Wastewater Treatment
The 6th IWA International Conference on Еco-Technologies for Wastewater Treatment brought together leading researchers, experts, and practitioners in Girona, Spain, from 26-29 June, 2023.
Project member Eva Gonzalez Flo, a representative of PROMICON's partner - Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), delivered a presentation that shed light on their research. Focusing on the "Top-down Engineering of Natural Phototrophic Microbiomes," Eva presented their work on bioplastic production using cyanobacteria microbiomes. This approach holds immense potential for sustainable and environmentally friendly bioproducts, contributing to advancements in wastewater treatment technologies.
In addition to Eva's participation in the conference, researchers from NOVA Lisbon also represented PROMICON through a captivating research poster on the topic of "Prospecting Microbial Consortia for High Yield Polyhydroxyalakanoates Production". The distinguished expert Prof. Maria Reis, one of the co-authors of the research, also chaired the conference session.
