PROMICON’s partners, AIMEN Technology Center hosted a special event for the International Women in Science day at CPR Plurilingüe Hermanos Quiroga Rodríguez in O Porriño. They organised activities for 150 primary and secondary school students.
The initiative aimed to inspire and engage young minds in science and it featured demonstrations to help make science more understandable and exciting for them. One of the highlights was a constructed wetland, which imitates the natural water purification processes of ecosystems. Additionally, the students were given the opportunity to observe microplastics present in runoff water under a microscope. Through a short video, the speakers were able to present and explain the purpose of the PROMICON project, focusing on the production of bioplastics from cyanobacteria.
