Our campaign #Lab_Stories, providing insight into the routine and work of the people behind the PROMICON project, continues on social media! The sixth feature in the series is Marina Rodríguez Carreiro. Stamatina Roussou is a PhD-student in PROMICON at the Center for Biological Research (CIB) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
Marina is a BSc in green biotechnology and she obtained her MSc working in PHB production from Pseudomonas putida KT2440 in continuous stirred-tank reactor. Currently, she is working at CIB-CSIC involved in the scale-up and downstream processing of bioplastic production from industrial residues.
In the context of PROMICON project, Marina will optimize the PHACOs production from P. putida using sucrose as carbon source.
In the video, she is telling us about her day-to-day activities in the lab, as well as her hopes for the future of PROMICON.
