PROMICON’s new social media campaign #WomenInScience aims to portray the excitement and the difficulties that come with being a female scientist, shedding more light on this career path. Each week, we will tell the stories of the women behind PROMICON and this week we are keeping our partner anonymous*.
I am very curious, open-minded, and fascinated by biological processes, which were the drivers to pursuing my career in science.
I have never felt discriminated by the fact I am a woman. I have always had the same opportunities as my male colleagues.
I do not feel that gender balance is an important aspect of the success of this specific project.
I believe that the gender balance is already considered by the EU Commission.
I have no inspiring women in my scientific/ academic career. For me, the fact of being a woman or a man is less important compared to excellence in research.
To be a good scientist, always search for and develop innovation, curiosity, and open-mindedness.
