Horizon Europe project 3-CO hosts webinar addressing certification and labelling challenges in bio-based industry
If you’re interested in the pressing issue of certification and labelling within biological feedstock, bio-based value chains and products, join Horizon Europe project 3-CO’s first webinar on 7 June 2024, from 11 am to 12:30 pm (CET). The webinar will also be joined by five other Horizon Europe projects, namely, BioReCer, HARMONITOR, Star4bbs, SUSTRACK, and Sustcert4Biobased, and will explore their approaches, recent advancements and results.
Certification and labelling are vital tools, empowering consumers to make sustainable choices by opposing greenwashing and delivering dependable sustainability data. Additionally, they streamline the monitoring and tracing of biological feedstock across value chains, nurturing transparency and responsibility among bio-based industry stakeholders. Nonetheless, existing certification and labelling schemes encounter numerous hurdles. They frequently lack comprehensive frameworks tailored to bio-based products and their associated value chains, thus failing to adequately represent their environmental and sustainability advantages. This webinar seeks to address these challenges head-on, offering insights and strategies to enhance existing certification and labelling frameworks to better reflect environmental and sustainability benefits.
